BIOGRAFIA

Luciano Civettini nasce a Trento il 5-4-1967. Frequenta l’Istituto Statale d’Arte Vittoria e l’Accademia di Belle Arti a Venezia.

Dai primi anni ‘90 inizia l’attività espositiva in gallerie private e spazi pubblici, soprattutto si divide tra Italia e Germania.

Negli ultimi anni espone con la galleria SpazioArte di Rovereto e con la galleria Studio 53 Arte, sempre di Rovereto, galleria con la quale collabora attualmente.

Il suo lavoro principia dai movimenti degli anni ’80 (transavanguardia in primis) avvicinandolo alle ricerche di De Maria e Paladino sempre con attenzione rivolta principalmente alla poetica piuttosto che alla forma.

Dopo un periodo di ricerca e conseguente quasi inattività, riprende a dipingere (la pittura è il medium a lui più congeniale) con una figurazione “pop”, caratterizzata da figure romantiche e decadenti, legata trasversalmente al mondo dei writhers, dei pittori underground americani ma mantenendo ben saldi i legami con la pittura europea contemporanea. Usa la parola spogliata del significato e della forza evocativa portandola sul piano del segno puro.


 

Born in Trento, Italy, in April 1967.He lives and works in Rovereto (Italy). Attended the Higher Institute of Art and the Academy of Venice and started to exhibit in the early 90’s.Earliest works were heavily influenced by surrealism, especially those of Magritte and Salvador Dali .His interests lie in visual poetry and writing mainly about surrealistic research on automatic writing.
This research follows abstractionism and fully embraces the theories of trans avantgardism (of De Maria, Paladino, Clemente).Through writing and words sustains a tie to currents of the'60s-'70s balancing image and poetic sense.He uses word to evoke poetic emotions though  often unrelated to the images.In recent years, after various exhibitions in Italy and Europe, he returned to figurative art, drawing on new pop surrealism,(low brow) maintaining references of contemporary European painting, then applying word symbolically.
The emotion is given by the contrasts of light and white images of children playing ,the base of which remind us of landscapes of war or crisis.The sense of drama is represented by contrasts and psychological research rather than through  violent or bloody images.
He uses painting as the main medium in all its techniques (acrylic, watercolour, oil ...) and applying these same theories to the plastic arts.Primarily, advertising and graphics interest him and forms related to the world of advertising and comics.
The mythical years of the 70’s and 80’s are the most important source of inspiration for his work.
