Luciano Civettini nasce a Trento il 5-4-1967. Frequenta l’Istituto Statale d’Arte Vittoria e l’Accademia di Belle Arti a Venezia.

Dai primi anni ‘90 inizia l’attività espositiva in gallerie private e spazi pubblici, soprattutto si divide tra Italia e Germania.

Negli ultimi anni espone con la galleria SpazioArte di Rovereto e con la galleria Studio 53 Arte, sempre di Rovereto, galleria con la quale collabora attualmente.

Il suo lavoro principia dai movimenti degli anni ’80 (transavanguardia in primis) avvicinandolo alle ricerche di De Maria e Paladino sempre con attenzione rivolta principalmente alla poetica piuttosto che alla forma.

Dopo un periodo di ricerca e conseguente quasi inattività, riprende a dipingere (la pittura è il medium a lui più congeniale) con una figurazione “pop”, caratterizzata da figure romantiche e decadenti, legata trasversalmente al mondo dei writhers, dei pittori underground americani ma mantenendo ben saldi i legami con la pittura europea contemporanea. Usa la parola spogliata del significato e della forza evocativa portandola sul piano del segno puro.
